Very trim. Some of it, he comes by honestly--he always had a hyperactive metabolism--but the sculpted muscles are mostly a byproduct of his powers. He used to be scrawny and lean; now his "default" frame comes straight from a magazine. Hair: Blond, bangs just long enough to occasionally sweep into his eyes. Eyes: Forget-me-not blue. Appearance: Teddy has a nice smile with white, even teeth and a dimple on his left cheek when he really grins. He's handsome, though not GQ pretty, with regular features, tanned skin, and bright, curious eyes. His ears are pierced several times and he has a pierced tongue. He’s got a tattoo on his right shoulder/bicep and another one on his left inner wrist, which he generally keeps covered with a black leather band. He wears a mellow, faintly aquatic cologne. He’s got his own sense of style—a little preppy, a little sporty, a little punk. He’ll laugh if you compare him to Pete Wentz and claim he has a better understanding of personal hygiene. All-in-all, he is very friendly and approachable and boy-next-door handsome. Played By: Dougie Poynter Powers, Abilities and Stats Powers: Metamorph: Teddy is a shapeshifter of remarkable ability, able to impersonate others with precise accuracy. He can also change aspects of his "default" body, bulking up his frame, adding working wings, claws, tougher skin, etc. He can change forms rapidly without much time to plan, though these forms are often less developed. Subconscious Metamorphic Adaptation: Teddy has the (subconscious) ability to adapt his body depending on his situation. His powers react to protect him, causing him to adaptively shift if his life is in danger. This has saved his skin a few times but would, theoretically, make it extremely difficult to operate on him if that were to ever become necessary. Healing Factor: Teddy has the ability to regenerate injured tissue and brain cells to an extraordinary degree. Superhuman Strength: Teddy is much stronger than an average human, and stronger than even most Krees because of his partial Skrull background. He is theoretically above Strength Class 100. Limited Invulnerability: Teddy's skin can become much denser and thicker than any normal human's, giving him a very strong resistance to pain and injury. Alien Physiology: Because of his alien DNA, Teddy isn't impacted by pheromone-controlling mutants. He also smells different to "feral" mutants. Not bad, not good--just not quite like everyone else. The woman Teddy knows as his mother is a Skrull handmaiden to the Empress, but he knows her as a regular human. He doesn't know his father. Religion: None. History: Story so far as Teddy knows it: Teddy was raised in a tiny Brooklyn apartment by a single working mother. His father had split when he was a baby and his mother didn’t like to talk much about him, other than to say they were better off on their own. Teddy never really believed that, but he loved his mom too much to argue. He's been toying with the idea of hunting his father down, however, and...what, he doesn't know. Guilting him into paying back-owed child support so his mom doesn't have to work so hard, maybe. He was a pretty quiet and shy kid growing up. This got worse when he hit junior high and started to grow up, but not out. He was gawky and weird-looking and got teased a lot. Teddy spent a lot of his time alone, working on solo projects and drawing. He joined the basketball team when he went to high school hoping that it’d be his ticket in, but it didn’t pan out that way. The cool kids ignored him, as usual. Teddy's powers manifested when he was fairly young, though he resisted going to a special school and kept it more or less to himself, embarrassed at not manifesting at the same age as most of his peers. He also suspected fairly young that he was gay, though he hasn't come out to anyone yet. His first major crush was on fellow basketball player Greg Norris. Greg was hot, charming, and devastatingly cool--too cool to even notice scrawny, dorky Teddy Altman. Finally giving in to temptation in late high school, Teddy used his shapeshifting powers to slowly change his appearance. After the summer, he came back to school a changed man. He caught the eye of popular kids and began to be invited to parties. His mother objected to the way Teddy was changing himself to fit in, but he ignored her. He had friends, he was one of the cool kids, and Greg had somehow become his best friend. Life was perfect. Maybe not so perfect. Teddy never really fit in with the cool kids, especially since some of the boys were also bullies. It was also hell being so close to Greg and yet having to lie about so much. Teddy finally told Greg about his powers early in his senior year. Greg immediately came up with a way to use Teddy’s shapeshifting to his own advantage, and Teddy went along with it for awhile, impersonating people and helping Greg score girls and one-up the other boys. The final straw was when Greg tried to get Teddy to help him break into neighborhood houses. Teddy severed ties with Greg and his friends and was branded a freak in retaliation. They made his life hell. It had been bad living as the sometimes-teased, mostly-ignored scrawny geek for most of his life. It was much, much worse to be the despised social misfit. Greg was hot and cool, so what he said was gospel--and he said a lot of nasty things about Teddy, including casting heavy doubt on his sexuality. The whole school, more or less, was against him. He had no friends, no allies, and no options except to avoid getting in fights, keep his head down, and wait for it to get better. Things escalated rapidly. By the time things were at their worst, Teddy was convinced that college would be the same as high school. He agreed to going to a special school out of the city, giving up a full ride to NYU just to get out for awhile. The story he doesn't know: Teddy's mother was the Skrull Princess Anelle. She met and fell in love with then-captive Captain Marvell, a Kree. Knowing their son would be in danger, she gave an infant Teddy to her handmaiden to raise in secret on Earth. That handmaiden is the women Teddy knows as his mother. Personality: Teddy is, at heart, a good kid. He's bright, warm, and has a good head on his shoulders. He likes to help out but doesn't feel the need to call attention to himself. He's the kind of person who makes a great best friend, endlessly patient, always willing to listen, and giving to a fault. He looks like he'd fit in with the cool, pretty people, but at heart, Teddy is a geek. He loves genre fiction and television, plays video games, and processes his feelings/life as comic book art. He's working through the series of unfortunate events that was his high school experience, plus some lingering resentment toward his absent father, but at the core he's a good, sensible, friendly guy. Mannerisms and quirks: Goes for a swim every morning; drinks way too much coffee; reads out loud under his breath; people-watches; sketches comic book art; doodles on his shoes jeans and hands.
